Q3: By knowing my current body temperament, how should I choose my diet or food habits?

Just eat the opposite foods if you want to have food as a medicine diet (medicine food), or at least eat neutral foods as explained on the Recipe page. Otherwise, you have an unhealthy diet and get sick in the short or long term.

Q7: What is the portion control or calorie-restricted size in the Avicenna Diet?

Avicenna Diet doesn’t assume all you eat can be absorbed by your body. In fact, the stools are so rich in calories which are used as a biofuel. Depending on your body temperament and the amount of wrong foods you eat, you can be overweight or underweight. However, it is strongly recommended to stop eating when you areย  70% full, until not feel full or overfull. Be mindful of sizes to avoid overeating.

Q8: What are the right eating habits in the Avicenna Diet?

1- Practicing mindful eating to engage your senses, such as sight, smell, taste, and touch, to fully experience the flavors, textures, and aromas of your food.

3-Avoid eating in front of the TV, computer, or smartphone to create a calm and
focused eating environment.

4-Avoide Cold Carbonated Drinks with your meal. Drink water or herbal teas at least 15 minutes after your meal, while consumption of sugary drinks and excessive caffeine are discouraged. Dehydration can lead to irritability, fatigue, and reduced cognitive function, all of which can affect mood.

Q9: What are the Meal Planning and Meal Schedule in the Avicenna Diet?

Meal planning is carefully selecting and organizing meals and snacks in advance during your shopping and cooking to ensure that you consume a well-balanced and nutritious diet suitable for your body’s temperament.

Meal Schedule is to decide how many meals and snacks you’ll have each day.ย  Intermittent fasting is recommended as a traditional restricted diet, typically eating daily for 12 hours(8:00 AM to 8:00 PM) and fasting during the night for the rest of 12 hours. Individuals with certain medical conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare professional before attempting any fasting regimen.

Q10: What is the function of sport & exercise in the Avicenna Diet?

Having 20 minutes of daily exercise is recommended for all types of body temperament. Although moderate activity leads to a Warm&Dry body temperament, too much body movement promotes a Cold& Dry temper, and it is not recommended for people with the same temperament. On the other hand, too much rest and daily sleeping over 8 hours cause a Cold&Wet temperament.

Q11: What is the function of climate & seasons in the Avicenna Diet?

Harsh climates & long seasons have a significant influence on our body’s temper. For example, the Hot&Wet climate is good for people with Cold&Dry temperaments but bad for those with a Hot&Wet body, which should be balanced with Cold&Dry foods & drinks. These logics are also valid for sitting in a wet or dry Sauna for longer than 15 minutes.

Q12: What are the harmful foods if they are eating together?

When you are eating medicine food as the opposite of your body temperament, or having neutral food, overeating some foods with the same strong nature together is prohibited. Historically it has been found that eating Fish and yogurt together is harmful because both have strong Cold & Wet natures which may affect your body like an overdose. Other examples are cooking the Lamb in Milk (W&W), having Honey with Sweet Melon (W&W), Watermelon and lettuce (C&W), Banana and coconut (W&D), or Lentils with vinegar (C&D) which both together are also forbidden.
